Zach Top is having some fun with the viral conspiracy theory that he’s Alan Jackson’s son.
During a recent interview with Audacy’s Rob and Holly, the rising country star addressed the rumor with pure humor saying, “Oh, it’s more than a rumor. Hell, I’ve been trying to figure out what the answer is. My parents won’t answer me straight. Nobody will.”
He joked that he’ll finally get answers when he meets Jackson in Fort Worth, Texas, where he’s set to open for him on February 15 at Dickies Arena.

“I think the only way I’m going to get a straight answer is in Fort Worth. When I finally meet him, when we do that first show here in a few weeks, I’m just going to go up and say, ‘hi daddy. I missed you,’ and we’ll see how he reacts and I’ll know whether it’s true or not,” the “I Never Lie” singer laughed.
Top admitted he wasn’t sure is the country music icon was “aware” of the internet conspiracy theories, adding, “I don’t imagine he scrolls Instagram or TikTok very much, but surely somebody needs camp has made him aware that this is a thing, so I hope we can do something funny on his tour where we kind of acknowledge it.”
Hoping to have the chance to team up with the legendary country star on stage, Top said that maybe they could play into it during the show.

“I thought just like if we’re on stage or something, if he ends up having me up for a song or something like that because it’s common thing to do on the tour or whatever, if he has me up and then just like,’that’s my boy,’” he offered.
While it’s clear that Zach Top is not Alan Jackson’s son, the internet has become fascinated by the idea. Earlier this year, a radio station used AI to merge photos of the two, highlighting their striking physical resemblance, and someone even edited Top’s Wikipedia page to claim he was Jackson’s son. Fans know that Jackson is happily married to his wife Denise, with whom he shares three daughters. Despite this, fans continue to embrace the idea, partly because of their similar looks, but also due to Top’s traditional country music sound, which mirrors Jackson’s iconic ’90s style.
It’s all in good fun, and Top was sure to make a point to mention that while chatting with Rob and Holly, saying, “Sorry Alan, if this is disrespectful…We love you and I respect you and we’re just having fun.”

Zach Top is quickly becoming one of country music’s hottest breakout stars. Soon, he’ll be taking the stage in Nashville, honored as one of the New Faces of Country Music at the Country Radio Seminar.
Fans can catch the Washington native on his headlining tour now through early summer.
