WATCH: Tracy Lawrence Hilariously Reacts To Some Of His Iconic ’90s Looks

Tracy Lawrence recently took a trip back in time as he reviewed a few photos from his journey in country music that he revealed have been gaining popularity online. From album cover shoots to on-stage performances, the ‘90s country star digs into some of his best (and worst) looks to date in a new TikTok video.

“Hey everybody, this is Tracy. We’ve been kind of digging around online and looking at old photos and I see a lot of you have been going back through a lot of my old photos and commenting hair and all the different shirts and looks that we did back in the day. So we’re going to go through and check some of those out for you,” he said in the opening of the clip.

Starting off strong is one of his best-known images, one that shows off his true fashion sense back in the day. He’s captured sporting his iconic mustache, a cowboy hat with hair flowing out the back and a striped button-down shirt that Lawrence believes “should make a comeback.”

“Oh my gosh. So this is one I see probably more than anything. I don’t know why everybody likes this picture so much. I look like I’ve been on a three-day bender,” he said with a laugh before adding, “Somebody needs to redo that shirt if you can find the material.”

The following photo is attached to a special memory for the “Time Marches On” singer. He’s donning a custom racecar suit with his name on it and leaning on the actual car that ran in the Daytona 500 in around 1993 and was later used in his “If The Good Die Young” music video that same year.

“Oh, this is awesome,” he gushed. “I still have the hood from that car out in the barn here in the back. But this was the car that we actually shot the “If The Good Die Young” in that was done at the Charlotte Motor Speedway in Charlotte, North Carolina. So great memories right there.”

Next up was what Lawrence considers to be his “least favorite photo of all the pictures that I’ve ever taken in my entire existence.” Although his face was covering the majority of the image, we can still clearly see the black cowboy hat and a snippet of his jacket that featured gold studs on the front. It was clear that his description was spot on.

“It looks like I went to Green Hills Mall and did a glamor shot. It looks like I picked that jacket right off the damn rack. It’s the most atrocious thing. I wish it would burn and incinerated it. Never be seen again,” Lawrence noted.

The final three photos gave fans a glimpse into the many different looks Lawrence sported over the years. One finds him in a snapback and black sunglasses, which he said represents his “edgy look.”

“I don’t know what I was doing, but it looks like I was about to get in trouble. Whatever it was, it wasn’t good,” he joked.

The other image he admitted to remembering well as it was taken during a photo shoot for his I See It Now album cover.

“It was done in downtown Nashville at a photographer studio. There was some really great shots that we got off that photo shoot. It was very cool.”

Last but not least, his collection of striped shirts makes yet another comeback for the final photo captured during one of his past performances. Lawrence noted that rising star Zach Top, who’s own look is seemingly inspired by the same era of country music, would easily be able to pull off this ensemble in his modern-day shows.

“Alright, here’s a big throwback for you. If Zach Top went through my closet and stole some old shirts, this would probably be on the top of the pile right here. Throwback ‘90s, baby,” Lawrence shared in conclusion.

This walk down memory lane comes at a time when ‘90s country is making a resurgence both in the looks and the type of country music being produced by many new artists today. Many users in the comment section seemed to enjoy this blast from the past and even encouraged Lawrence to bring back his long locks.

Fans will have plenty opportunities to catch Tracy Lawrence showcasing his timeless country style and sound on stage throughout the year, with upcoming shows in Alabama, Tennessee, Texas and more.
