Thomas Rhett Announces Dream-Come-True Headlining Show At Boston’s Fenway Park

Thomas Rhett has just announced that on July 19, he will get to live out his dream of headlining Boston’s Fenway Park for the very first time. The can’t-miss show will feature support from GRAMMY® Awards nominee and “Somethin’ ‘Bout A Womna” collaborator, Teddy Swims, as well as rising stars Tucker Wetmore and The Castellows.

While this is a huge and exciting surprise for fans, many were able to guess that this big reveal was in the works as Rhett dropped a teaser video just a few days prior, which simply found him grabbing his guitar and strumming the opening notes to Neil Diamond’s “Sweet Caroline.” This served as a pretty big clue as it has become a beloved tradition to sing the well-known tune during the 8th inning of every home game for the Boston Red Sox.

“Sweet Caroline” Teaser

The milestone news was finally unveiled on Monday morning (Jan. 13), when Rhett built onto his previous post, this time singing the song’s iconic chorus while donning a Red Sox jersey. He expressed an abundance of joy in the caption as he reflected on finally getting the chance to take the stage and experience the bucket list moment this summer after having to cancel his Fenway park show in 2020.

“Ever since I was 21 I have always dreamed of headlining a baseball stadium. I remember way early in my career playing shows in Boston. House of blues, TD Garden, Gillette with Kenny Chesney, Fenway with Jason Aldean. You get the picture. Boston has always been sooo good to us. To be transparent.. we were planning on playing Fenway in 2020 and we all know how that panned out haha! So, since then my team and I have been working really hard to figure out when was the best time,” wrote the multi-platinum entertainer.

A Major Step In Rhett’s Career

Rhett has spent the past few years grinding on the road and performing in arenas and amphitheaters all across the world, so making the leap from those venues to a baseball stadium is admittingly “kind of terrifying” for him. However, among all those nerves is tremendous excitment.

“I have never been more excited about something in my career as much as I am about this,” he added.

Wetmore matched the “Gone Country” singer’s enthusiasm as he took to the comment section to write, “ABSOLUTELY INSANE!!! Gonna be so sick” while The Castellows added, “LETS GO! So honored and excited to be apart of this!❤️”
