Robert Hunter’s Daughter Helps Him Pick Kelsea Ballerini As Coach In Adorable ‘The Voice’ Moment

Kelsea Ballerini added another country artist to Team Kelsea on NBC’s The Voice after Robert Hunter crushed his blind audition with a performance of Cody Johnson’s “Til You Can’t.”

The 33 year old, who resides in Garner, North Carolina, which happens to be the hometown of American Idol champ Scotty McCreery, delivered a passionate performance of the chart-topping hit as the coaches, Kelsea Ballerini, Adam Levine, John Legend, and Michael Bublé watched on.

Within seconds, Ballerini was the first to push her button, turning her red chair to cheer on the contestant.

“Out of my way, out of my way, she told her fellow coaches panel.

As Hunter sang, she cautioned, “do not, do not,” warning them not to hit their buttons.

However, they ignored her, and about halfway through, Bublé couldn’t resist tapping in, pointing out, “there’s the voice.”

After Hunter was welcomed to the show by Legend and Levine, Ballerini and Bublé each tried their best to convince him to join their teams.

“I’m going to be honest with you. There were some pitch issues,” Ballerini began. “However, I am looking for storytellers, writers, artists, and the way that you told the story is what really interests me. I’m new here, but I’m also now, and I’m also now in country. I really love to work with you, and so I’m going to bring out the big guns.”

At this point, Ballerini took out a pair of cowboy boots, hoping to entice him to join her team with her country cred.

Bublé went on to plead with Hunter to give him a shot and used his best country accent.

“Beautiful country artists have turned around and Kelsea has beat me. I have not been here for 700 seasons like Adam and I obviously haven’t learned my lesson yet because I really like country,” he said. I turn around and I’m like, ‘I just want to be with you and hang out with you.’ At least. Robert, maybe you’ll respect me because you’ll say he’s brave. So I thank you for considering me, Robert.”

Before Robert Hunter made his choice, Ballerini added, “Just one more thing I would love to see in this next performance, something with a little more space in it.”

To show an example, the East Tennessee native delivered a chorus of Brooks & Dunn’s “Neon Moon.”

Bublé attempted to make a country argument, however, it didn’t appear to work.

Robert Hunter was joined by his wife and daughter, who helped him reveal his decision as his young daughter declared that “Kelsea Ballerina” was her favorite singer and that her favorite song was “IF YOU GO DOWN (I’M GOIN’ DOWN TOO).”

This prompted Ballerini to leap out of her chair and join the adorable family on stage.
