Parmalee Falls For A ‘Cowgirl’ In New Single

Parmalee previews their just-announced album, Fell In Love With A Cowgirl, with a new high energy single titled “Cowgirl.”

Penned by the four-piece group alongside David Fanning, James Daniel Lewis, Peter Daniel Newman, Robbie Jay and Thomas Frank Ridley Horsley, the fresh release presents listeners with a spirited country love song that doubles as a feel-good party anthem.

Traditional country storytelling is at the core of the track, but Parmalee gives it a modern twist as they illustrate the moment a guy falls head over heels for someone unexpected. Their rebellious spirit comes alive right beginning in the very first verse when we see the lovestruck man start to fall for her cowgirl ways.

While watching the woman sip on Bud Light, listen to Morgan Wallen’s “Last Night” and two-step across the dive bar’s dance floor, it’s clear that her “southern charm” has made a lasting impression on his life.

“I fell in love with a cowgirl/I’m followin’ her curves like a backroad/The way she fit it in them Levis/Make a man never wanna go home/I only came for a minutе/ Now she make me wanna livе it/ Yeah, her southern charm ain’t no joke/ Thank God for the cowgirl/ I fell in love with a cowgirl/ And I ain’t comin’ home,” Parmalee sings on the chorus, giving listeners a heavy dose of their swagger-filled vocals.

While reflecting on the story behind the song, the group’s lead singer, Matt Thomas shares. “It’s about falling in love with that cowgirl or just somebody different that has you going out and trying new things, and you’re loving every bit of it.”

“Cowgirl” is the first track to be unveiled from the band’s forthcoming album, Fell In Love With A Cowgirl. Dropping April 4, the seven-song collection will serve as part one of a two-album set that aims to elevate Parmalee’s distinctive storytelling and infectious anthems that often find them putting a fresh perspective on love and the many adventures life brings. Parmalee Scores Fifth No. 1

The release of their new single follows the news of the North Carolina native’s most recent milestone. Back in December the group scored their fifth No. 1 single with “Gonna Love You,” which they performed on Good Morning America and The Kelly Clarkson Show in celebration. Fans also got to hear the tender ballad when Parmalee performed it at the “Concert For Carolina” benefit, which raised more than $25 million for Hurricane Helene relief efforts.

The song, which marks their fourth consecutive chart-topping hit, was also paired with an equally powerful music video.

“Having ‘Gonna Love You’ go #1 is special in so many ways,” the band said. “We took a shot with a song completely different from the previous three (we released), and it really connected. Also, this was the song we needed to help tell our story and ultimately film the music video. As difficult as it was on the video set, it was a way to move on, and now we can all celebrate this song and how far we’ve come.”

Beginning February 13 in Madison, WI, Parmalee will launch their Fell In Love With A Cowgirl Tour in support of the new project. The trek will run through March with special guest Avery Anna, and includes stops across the U.S. and Canada.

“There is so much energy and excitement around us and our whole team, and we can’t wait to celebrate 2025 with the Parmalee Famalee,” Parmalee shared in anticipation of the run.
