Parker McCollum is speaking out after being forced to abruptly leave the stage in the midst of his concert in State College, PA over the weekend when he fell violently ill during the performance.
Taking to Instagram, the Texas native explained what led to him end the show early.
“Long story short, I was in the meet and greet before the show. I had about two people left and all of a sudden just out of nowhere, bam, I felt it in my stomach. I said, man, ‘I’m about to be very, very sick.’ I knew that something was pretty wrong and spent about an hour sitting with my head in my lap trying to make myself throw up just to try to see if that would make me feel better. I couldn’t really do it,” he said. “Showtime rolled around, decided to try and give it a go. Got out there, felt okay the first couple of songs, and then the more I was singing and pushing, it became apparent. And I’m sure y’all could tell in the crowd that I was not doing well up there.”
@alliecheeto thank you for at least playing us half of the show @parkermccollum 🙌🏻 he said he was throwing up 15 mins before the show but wanted to give us what he could… mad respect to him for not canceling the whole show tho🤝🏻 he made it about halfway through the setlist and honestly sounded so good until the last 2 songs he sang🥲 it’s ok Parker, we still love you! feel better🫶🏻 #parkermccollum #pennstate #feelbetter #whatkindamantour2025 #fyp ♬ original sound – alliecheeto
When he realized he was about to be sick, McCollum walked off stage mid-show, telling the crowd, “I apologize sincerely, I’m going to call the show. “I’ll give each and every single one of y’all your money back. It is from the deepest part of my heart that I apologize for having to do this. I’ve never done this in all the years I’ve been singing country music. I apologize sincerely. I hope you guys will forgive us. We will come back and make it up. I will give every penny you spent tonight back. Thank you so much.”

In the video shared on Tuesday, McCollum once again admitted that he has never had to walk off stage in the middle of a show and deemed it “absolutely the worst thing ever.”
“To have to end a show like that, especially so early in the night, I cannot tell y’all how much I appreciate y’all being so understanding. I’m sure that’s not how anybody wanted to go. It’s certainly not how I wanted it to go, but I just didn’t have a choice,” he promised. “As soon as I walked off stage, I walked straight to my bus. I didn’t even make it to my bus. I was in the bushes for about 10 minutes, just as violently sick as I’ve ever been in my entire life. Spent about the next 48 hours basically in the fetal position, just incredibly sick as just unbelievably ill as I’ve ever been in my entire life.”
Now that he is feeling “a little better,” the chart-topping star took the time to thank fans for understanding and share his plans for his tour this week.
“I think we’ll be good to go for this week, the Rhode Island and Massachusetts and Maine, but that was first weekend of the What Kinda Man Tour, not how I wanted it to go. I just really appreciate all the fans there in Pennsylvania for showing up. The crowd was electric, the arena was sold out and everything was kind of teed up to have a great show and in that first weekend of the tour on such a great note and could not have been more of the opposite,” he shared. “So again, I appreciate you guys understanding you have my word. We are working on a date sometime this year to come back and make that show up to you guys. I really appreciate the support and everybody reaching out and checking on me getting a lot better. Not a hundred percent yet.”
He told fans to stay tuned for details on the makeup show and told them, “I just hate to disappoint you guys.”
Parker McCollum’s What Kinda Man Tour is scheduled to resume on Thursday, Jan. 30 in South Kingstown, RI. For a full list of upcoming dates, visit his official website.
