Kameron Marlowe is branching out from his usual sound to give fans a new concept album, Sad Songs For The Soul. As the title suggests, this project will offer a collection made up entirely of somber tunes.
On February 21, fans will be introduced to a “cathartic experience” filled with all the different intimate emotions that come with heartbreak at various stages of life.
“I’ve had these songs for a while now, but I was never sure if I wanted to actually release them all. I kept coming back to the idea of doing a concept record of only sad songs but was honestly nervous that it might be too different from what fans are used to hearing from me,” Marlowe admitted.
Although the North Carolina native felt a bit of hesitation while building out this unique project, he ultimately came to the conclusion that these messages are important for fans to hear. Not only will they showcase a fresh new side to Marlowe’s artistry, but they also may be able to help listeners move on from the pain they’ve been holding onto far too long.
It’s clear that Marlowe is proud of this work and is eager to share what else he has in store for the remainder of the year.
“I wanted to push the boundaries a little and put out an unexpected, soulful, stripped project full of heartbreak at all stages in life,” he continued. “Ben West produced the project and I cannot be more thrilled on how it turned out. You can really feel the pain behind each song and I hope fans enjoy this new side. Excited to get more music out in 2025!”

New Song – “Hello Whiskey”
To celebrate the announcement, fans were gifted another sneak peek into the full-length collection with a new song, “Hello Whiskey,” out now. Coming hot on the heels of the soulful “Burning House,” Marlowe’s stripped-down cover of Cam, release illustrates the agonizing feeling of not being able to escape the pain of a broken heart and being forced to turn to whiskey as a temporary relief.
Reflecting on the writing process behind the track, Marlowe shares, “I wrote ‘Hello Whiskey’ with Kendell Marvel and Phil O’Donnell. We wanted to write a classic heartbreak song that talks about what it feels like when you’re trying your hardest to move on, but you truly cannot get over someone. The melody is a little unexpected but I think that’s what makes this song special.”
Kameron Marlowe’s new music is setting the tone for his big year of touring ahead. To kick things off, he will join Parker McCollum as support for the “What Kinda Man Tour 2025” through April, which will be followed by his own Keepin’ The Lights On Tour, beginning in Charles Town, WV on March 7.
