Jon Pardi just took his powerhouse weekend anthem, “Friday Night Heartbreaker” to the next level with the release of its accompanying music video directed by Jim Wright.
The CMA and ACM award-winning artist appears in Nashville’s historic Printer’s Alley, illuminated only by headlights of his sleek black car and the string lights connecting the two brick buildings. Donning a black cowboy hat and matching leather jacket, Pardi strums along to the intoxicating beat and begins telling the fleeting love story.
A female character playing the role of the “Friday Night Heartbreaker” invites a lonesome cowboy into the bar, where he quickly falls under the spell of her mysterious allure. A slew of circus acts appear throughout the bar, including an acrobat, a fire breathing performance, a fortune teller, each of which cause the cowboy to become more and more hypnotized by the “hell-raising” woman.
Meanwhile, Jon Pardi is using his signature hard-hitting vocals and addicting storytelling to send a warning about the consequences that will come to anyone who starts to fall for the kind of woman who is guaranteed to break any hearts that come her way.
“Ooh, she’ll get you hypnotized/ Leave you victimized/ She’s a Friday night heartbreaker/ Ooh, she’ll get you with them eyes/ Devil in disguise/ She’s a Friday night heartbreaker/ Hellraiser, game player/ Better do yourself a favor,” Pardi sings on the chorus.
At the end of the video, that heartbreak comes full circle as the cowboy finds himself once again left alone while the woman escapes among the darkness of the night by stepping into Pardi’s car.
The “Your Heart Or Mine” singer reflected on the filming of the late-night music video, claiming that the unique set of details and characters included made the entire cinematic creation a fun experience.
“I always enjoy filming with Jim Wright, even if it means being in Printer’s Alley until 2 AM,” said Pardi. “You really see some wild characters down there at that hour. One of my favorite parts of the shoot was chatting with the actors and actresses who performed the circus stunts—they were amazing!”
He went on to joke that his only responsibility was to “play guitar and drive a cool car” while the circus acts stole the show by “breathing fire and swallowing swords” in the background.
“It was awesome to watch it all come together,” Pardi concluded.
The buzzing dance-worthy tune was penned by Josh Miller, Chris Tompkins, Jessie Jo Dillon, Daniel Ross, and Ryan Hurd and is set to serve as the lead track off Pardi’s upcoming fifth studio album. The Jay Joyce-produced project is expected to be released in 2025.
Beginning this spring, Pardi will make his way to various arenas and amphitheaters in 16 cities across the U.S. for his 2025 Honkytonk Hollywood Tour. The trek will feature special guests Corey Kent and Kassi Ashton on select dates and will run through June.
