Jennifer Nettles has stepped down from her duties as host of the dating show Farmer Wants A Wife after two seasons. For the upcoming third season, Fox officials have revealed that the GRAMMY award winner will be replaced by Nashville star and wife of Brad Paisley, Kimberly Williams-Paisley.
Nettles has yet to comment on the reason for her departure, but over the past year, it’s clear she has been pouring her focus into music as one half of the powerhouse country duo, Sugarland. The duo reunited in April of 2024 for the CMT Music Awards, where they performed alongside Little Big Town. Both acts hit the road together in 2024 for their “Take Me Home” tour and have left fans excited to see what’s to come.
New Season Airing This Spring
Viewers will finally get to see what Williams-Paisley, wife to country singer Brad Paisley, has been up to on set when the new season of Farmer Wants A Wife airs on the network on Thursday, March 20.
A whole new group of four single farmers and their respective groups of women have been selected to embark on a journey that will (hopefully) lead them to find a true connection. These women will step away from their fast-paced lives in the big city and move to the suburban, rural communities with their farmer to get a taste for life in the countryside.
They will each be put to the test with a series of farming tasks alongside their romantic date nights, allowing the eligible bachelors to determine if the women have what it takes to be a farmer’s wife. Viewers will watch as the farmers slowly eliminate members of their group down to just one contestant who could become their wife.
Why Kimberly Williams-Paisley Was The Perfect Fit
While discussing her new role, Williams-Paisley admitted she had a great time helping guide these farmers throughout the highs and lows and all the many emotions that we will see unfold throughout the show. She is especially fitting to take on these responsibilities as she can relate to the female contestants, being that she too made the choice to leave her city life behind for the invaluable chance at love.
“I enjoyed being myself in this show, which was a new experience for me with my first unscripted series. Because I’m a city girl who embraced the country life when I married my husband twenty-one years ago, I related to the allure of a farmer for these ladies. I really appreciate how dedicated this show and its producers are in helping these hopeful farmers and women find love,” said Williams-Paisley.
“We are thrilled to have Kimberly Williams-Paisley take the reins as our new host,” added Michael Thorn, President, Fox Television Network. “Given her wonderful presence as a talent and person, not to mention her unique love story, Kimberly is a perfect fit for this role and our network.”
The unique format for the show has proved to be the perfect storm for connections to form all over the world. Last season, fans saw three out of four farmers fall in love. And two of the farmers, Mitchell Kolinsky and Nathan Smothers, still remain happily in love in their relationships with Sydney Errera and Taylor BeDell.
Farmer Wants A Wife, the most successful dating show in the world is produced by Eureka Productions. David Tibballs serves as showrunner and exec produces alongside Paul Franklin, Chris Culvenor, Ben DeNoble and Jayne Parker.
Tune into the Season 3 premiere on Thursday, March 20, 2025 at 9 PM ET on Fox.
