Today is an exciting day for Gavin Adcock fans. Not only are tickets officially on sale for his 2025 tour, but he has also dropped the brand-new song that inspired the name of his upcoming trek, “Need To.”
Written by Casey and Tucker Beathard, Joybeth Taylor, Austin Goodloe and produced by Jay Rodgers, the just released track delivers a heavy dose of wisdom. When heartbreak rears its head, the Georgia native comes to the bittersweet realization that sometimes, in order to move forward in life, the best thing to do is to let go, even when it hurts.
The mid-tempo pace of the new tune presents a contrast to his usual country/rock sound, thus honoring Adcock’s captivating storytelling skills and his ability to confidently let his emotions do the talking.
“Sometimes you need to let it all go/ And hold what you got in your hand/ Sometimes you need to blow away the flow/ From a bottle or a glass or a can/ Yes, sometimes you need to wash down/ The weight of the world and watch it drown/ Sometimes just one drink won’t do/ Sometimes you need to…” Adcock sings on the clever and candid chorus.
Additionally, “Need To” gives listeners a look into the Georgia native’s next album, which he recently teased on social media.
“Just finished writing this album. Let record this thing,” Adcock wrote in the caption.
This forthcoming project will follow Adock’s Actin’ Up Again album, a collection of 16 songs that was named the largest major-label country debut from a solo male artist released in 2024. It also racked up more than 15 million on-demand U.S. streams week of release and marked 2024’s top streaming major-label debut across the whole genre.
Adcock kept his momentum going as he made his way across the U.S. with multiple headline tours including the Monster Energy Outbreak Tour Presents: Gavin Adcock, which sold out 31 out of 34 dates, and his current 30+ date Actin’ Up Again (Again) Tour which is completely sold out.
The rising country rocker isn’t showing any signs of slowing down as he has paired his new song with another headlining run dubbed the Need To Tour. He will kick things off on May 2 in Brandon, MS and run there October, when his final stop on the tour will take place in Athens, GA.
