Rising country artists Mason Ramsey and Harper Grace have teamed up for a new duet, “Live Lonely.”
For his first official collaboration for his catolog, Ramsey dug deep into his own experiences to illustrate a heartbroken story of two former lovers whose story came to a halt as a result of distance getting in the way. Ramsey and Grace each depict the pain in their hearts and their desire to mend their state of loneliness while taking turns sharing their perspectives through mesmerizing harmonies.
“Nothing but blue on my mind/ My heart is aching all the time/ Cause Jackson stole my baby/ And it’s gonna drive me crazy/ And so I cry/ Til there’s no more tears to dry/ And It’s gonna kill me/ Cause I don’t wanna live lonely,” they sing on the chorus.

Ramsey and Grace co-wrote “Live Lonely” with Michael De Lorenzis and Michael Paynter following their introduction at 2023’s CMA Fest. Both being incredibly busy artists, they are far too familiar with the toll that constantly being on the road can take on a romantic relationship. So with this song, they set their raw emotions free and offer listeners a sound that combines the 18-year-old’s timeless nostalgia with the American Idol alum’s angelic tone.
“I really think it makes the song. I think her voice is very beautiful,” Ramsey said of his duet partner.
This won’t be the end of the artists’ time working together as Ramsey teased that a “Live Lonely” music video could be in the works. Plus, Grace will be serving a as support on select dates of his 2025 headlining trek.

The Monster Energy Outbreak Tour Presents: Mason Ramsey will launch in Mount Vernon, KY on April 6 and run through May with special guest Halle kearns. This tour will follow his first headlining run of 2024 and the release of his debut full-length album I’ll See You In My Dreams.

When did you and Harper Grace first meet and how did your songwriting session come about?
We actually met overseas at the O2 arena when we did the Country 2 Country, but it was very brief. Whenever I actually got to speak with Harper, was, we were at the CMA Fest and I was on my way to do my performance…I got to meet her there and we chatted. She asked if it’s possible to get a write in sometime and I said, you know, we might be able to work something out. A couple of months later, we ended up writing together, and we wrote the song “Live Lonely.”
How did it evolve into a duet?
Harper had this idea of writing her own verse and putting it on the song. I really think it makes the song. I think her voice is very beautiful.
Where did the inspiration behind the song’s storyline stem from?
I had this girl that I’d been dating for about five months and the story, it talks about Jackson. Jackson is actually a town, Jackson, Tennessee. She lives about, I don’t know, about 45 minutes from Jackson, between Jackson and Memphis. So, it kind of talks about that. Also, it just talks about her staying there and not really going with me wherever I need to go. Mainly it was written for the road because I was on tour, across some county lines and things like that.
Since this is the first duet you’ve recorded for your catalog, can you talk about what the process was like to bring this song to life alongside Harper?
We sat down together, and we started just throwing out our ideas and talking about a lot of experiences, you know, maybe what we’ve been going through. Then I told them my story, and we kind of just went off of that. You know, just getting to know everybody in the room, as well, everyone was super nice and super easy to work with, and it was just really a lot of fun for me to kind of open up and also just to get to know everybody…I had these producers from Australia. They pitched the music idea and we just kind of added the words to it and that’s just kind of how it came about.
“Live Lonely” was streamed over 100,000 times in just three days. How does it feel to see such a positive response from fans?
I mean, I love it. I think music that, you know, if it moves my fans, it moves me. And I just love to see my fans happy. They’re like my family, so any way that I can make them feel happy, I’m glad.
You also announced your 2025 tour. What did you learn from your last headline run last year that you’ll be taking with you into this upcoming tour?
Oh man, just gotta be ready for anything to happen. When you think everything is going smooth, that’s when things start happening. On my last tour, fall tour, my bus caught on fire and a bunch of crazy stuff started to happen. I wasn’t even in by where my bus was. The band was driving back to Nashville, I was actually in New York for a magazine shoot. And so that happened…You just gotta be ready for anything to happen on tour. But it’s a lot of fun, you know, people are amazing.

What can fans expect from this next run of live shows?
The shows are a lot of energy, obviously, from some of the clips that you can probably see on my story on Instagram or TikTok. We just have fun. We rock and roll, man.
Harper is joining you for a few of those dates too. Any plans to bring her up during your set to sing “Live Lonely”?
We are actually working that out. We’re discussing that. So we’ll see what happens.
What other goals do you have for 2025?
I want to do a lot of things. I’m a dreamer, so, I mean, someday to play the Nissan Stadium, which they’re actually building a new one in Nashville right now as we speak. So, I mean, that would be pretty cool. I’d love to do a world tour. I thought going overseas last year was just amazing and I thought it was a really cool experience for me since I’ve never been overseas before. I’ve only been in the U. S. and Canada. So it was really cool to go over there.
