Dollywood has officially closed for the winter season.
The beloved theme park shared the news on social media on Wednesday alongside a photo gallery looking back on the past year.
“We’ve loved making memories worth repeating with you!🦋,” the park wrote. “We are officially closed for the season.”
Dollywood celebrated another incredible year with season events such as the the I Will Always Love You Music Festival, the Flower & Food Festival, the Smoky Mountain Summer Celebration, Harvest Festival, and Smoky Mountain Christmas.
In May of 2024, Dollywood opened the The Dolly Parton Experience, an interactive attraction that immerses guests in Dolly Parton’s journey from her roots in Locust Ridge to her global stardom, showcasing her career, family, dreams, and iconic style.
While Dollywood, the reigning Best Theme Park in the world according to Amusement Today, remains closed, fans can still visit Dollywood’s DreamMore Resort and Spa and Dollywood’s HeartSong Lodge & Resort.
Dollywood’s DreamMore Resort and Spa is hosting a Winter Music Series that will feature performances by Linda Davis, Michelle Wright, Ruby Leigh, Mark Wills, Aaron Tippin, and Gary Morris on weekends in January, February, and March. The 2025 Winter Music Series is a ticketed event available to both resort and non-resort guests.
When Will Dollywood Open In 2025?
On March 14, 2025, Dollywood will open its doors for its milestone 40th anniversary season.
“I can’t believe that we’ve been making memories for folks here at my Dollywood for 40 years. That’s a lot of laughter, hugs and smiles, and I’m glad that we’ve been able to be part of it for so many years,” Dolly Parton, Dollywood’s Dreamer-In-Chief shared. “When we opened Dollywood, the main thing I wanted to do was to give families a fun place where they could enjoy time spent together. I’m so proud of all the people who have worked to make Dollywood what it is today, and I want to thank all the guests who have supported us and trusted us to help them create those days they’ll never forget. And just think, I spent opening day watching the parking lot because I was worried that people might not show up. But look at how far we’ve come since then—and we’re just getting started!”
The international icon reflected on 40 years of Dollywood in a recent conversation with Southern Living, where the Tennessee native graces the cover of the January/February issue.
When reflecting on what she’s most proud of at Dollywood, Parton shared, “I was dreaming of a place called Dollywood for a long, long time. I’m just so proud that after 40 years, that it has just been great for family. I’m proud of every bit of it. I love the shows, I love the food, and of course we love the resorts now that we have. But everything about Dollywood I think is special because we have something for everyone.”
In addition to the rides and shows, Dollywood is known for its food. Parton’s favorite? The funnel cakes.
“The funnel cakes we’re famous for, so I never go there…even if I’m in my bus or if I’m in my suite, The Dolly Suite, I say, ‘Run and get me some funnel cakes. I can’t leave here without funnel cakes.’ I have to say, we have some of the best foods ever at Dollywood,” she told Southern Living.
