Carly Pearce Shuts Down Six Misconceptions About Herself In Candid New Video

As someone who lives in the limelight, Carly Pearce is no stranger to seeing her name get tangled in rumors regarding romance, industry drama, her physical appearance and more. But now she’s taking things into her own hands and setting the record straight on a few things.

In a new social media post, the songstress told viewers she would be doing a get-ready-with-me style video while speaking the truth on some common misconceptions about her. The first fallacy she pointed out was that not all of her songs centered around relationships (both good and bad) are about the same person.

“So because I wrote a divorce album called 29, people say every song after that album is about my ex-husband. They’re not,” Pearce confirmed in reference to her 2020 split from fellow country star, Michael Ray.

Also on the topic of relationships, the “We Don’t Fight Anymore” singer reflected on the struggles that come with navigating the dating world, including having the public jump to the conclusions.

“I’m still dating and not engaged or married again, yet people think that I must be the problem. Why?” she questions.

Did Pearce Have Work Done?

Next, Carly Pearce opens up about accusations that she had major work done back in 2020 when fans were quick to point out her drastic change in appearance at the 54th annual CMA Awards. What no one knew at the time was that she had actually been recovering from a scary fall that led to her getting stitches.

“People think back in 2020 after seeing me on the CMA awards that I had a bunch of crazy work done on my face and my lips. But in reality, I was in an accident five days prior to the CMAs and knocked both of my front teeth out, and the day after the CMAs, I had to get three root canals,” Pearce recalled.

“People say I’m not fun”

She also confirmed that she is in fact “nice,” despite what others seem to think, and just because her discography contains a lot of somber tunes, that does not mean she lives every second of her day under a dark cloud.

“So because I have social anxiety, people say that I don’t look nice. I swear I’m nice,” she said, later adding, “Because I write and sing sad songs. People say I’m not fun. I even had a country artist that I opened for tell me that he thought I was probably not fun and had no idea until he got to know me.”

New Music Coming Soon

Pearce saved the best confession for last. The Kentucky native ended on a high note as she hinted at the fact that despite just releasing her latest full-length project, Hummingbird, in June, listeners could be getting some new tunes much sooner than expected.

“People think because I put out an album mid last year that I’m not going to be putting out any new music for a really long time,” she teased with a smirk.

Listeners then got a sneak peek into the unreleased tunes in a following video, which found Pearce delivering an acoustic preview of a powerful ballad that reminds us that there is hope on the other side of the dark days.
