Lorrie Morgan has canceled all concerts and appearances for the next two weeks as her husband, Randy White, continues his battle with mouth cancer.
The unfortunate news was shared through Morgan’s manager, Tony Conway of Conway Entertainment Group on Thursday, April 17. Conway cites that Morgan’s beloved other half is currently receiving treatment at a hospital in Middle Tennessee.
The Grand Ole Opry star was originally set to perform for a limited number of dates on Alabama’s “Live In Concert 25 Tour.” Lorrie Morgan, Pat Green, Eddie Montgomery, Lee Greenwood, Jamey Johnson, Ned LeDoux, BlackHawk and Alex Miller were all tapped to serve as support throughout the run which kicked off in April and runs through Aug. 28.
While Morgan takes the necessary time off the road to be wither loved one, country legend Pam Tillis will step in for her on the current Alabama tour.
Morgan’s next performance would have taken place tonight, April 17 at the Footprint Center in Phoenix AZ. It’s unclear when exactly she will return to the stage.
Lorrie Morgan And Randy White’s Love Story
The couple has been married for nearly 15 years. White is a retired Nashville entrepreneur who tied the knot with Morgan in September of 2010 during a private beachside ceremony. They now reside just outside of Nashville.
A little over a year ago today, Morgan took to Facebook to share the news that her husband was undergoing cancer treatment.
“We deeply appreciate the prayers and well wishes, and for continued support and privacy as we focus on Randy’s health and on our family at this time,” Morgan wrote.

White, Morgan’s sixth husband, has been by her side longer than anyone else. She was first married to Ron Gaddis, who served as the backup and harmony singer, duet partner, bass player, and bandleader for George Jones’ band, the Jones Boys. Then she fell in love with her second husband, fellow country icon Keith Whitley who tragically passed away in 1989. Morgan’s third husband was Brad Thompson, followed by Jon Randall and Sammy Kershaw.
Morgan’s Successful Country Music Career
The songstress has had her fair share of heartbreak throughout her life and many of her experiences have led to country songs that have stood the test of time. She got her start in music at an early age, following in the footsteps of her father and Grand Ole Opry star George Morgan, who introduced his little girl for her debut in the iconic circle when she was just 13 years old.
Her career reached new heights in 1989 with her powerful hit “Dear Me.” In 1990, she won a CMA Award for her work with her late husband, Keith Whitley. The following years welcomed three more albums – Leave the Light On, Something in Red and Watch Me — all of which sold over a million copies.
She went on to become one of the top female country stars of the 1990s with hits including “I Guess You Had to Be There,” “What Part of No,” “Except for Monday,” “Something in Red,” “I Didn’t Know My Own Strength,” “Half Enough” and others.
As she takes a temporary step back from the stage to be by her husband’s side, Lorrie Morgan’s incredible impact and contributions to country music continues to resonate across generations.
