As Koe Wetzel prepares to welcome his first child with his longtime girlfriend Bailey Fisher, he opens up about the upcoming life change and the potential impact it could have on his music career.
The couple shared their big news with the world in January and revealed that they were already over halfway through the pregnancy at the time. Fisher made the announcement on her Instagram featuring a snapshot of the parents-to-be posing together with the sonogram. The slideshow featured images from a countryside photoshoot, several of which Wetzel was soon lovingly holding Fisher’s growing bump.
“Our sweetest blessing. Just over halfway with baby girl💕” she wrote in the caption.
While Wetzel has remained fairly quiet about this new life chapter, he did tell Audacy’s Katie Neal that they are both “really excited.”
“It’s going to be a big change and a good change for me. I feel like can need it,” he said, acknowledging the fact that his rowdy tendencies might be toned back a bit more now that he’s preparing to become a father.
Fisher’s latest post from March 8 gave followers a glimpse into she and Wetzel’s Island getaway in Hawaii. In Each photo, she was seen showing off her belly among the serene setting of beaches and palm trees. The singer/songwriter also appeared in a few of the photos as he was seen enjoying a day on the golf course and some time in the pool with a tropical drink in hand.

Wetzel has largely kept his relationship with Fisher out of the spotlight, meaning there is not much known about his relationship with Fisher. She has occasionally shared photos of them at various events, however Wetzel tends to keep his social media platforms dedicated to his music announcements and snapshots from life on the road.
With this new journey, Katie Neal couldn’t help but ask Wetzel if he believes the emotions and experiences of having a child will bleed into his songwriting.
“It hasn’t yet, and I don’t know. I don’t know how that’s going to affect everything. I think once it gets here and it really hits me, then I’m sure it will,” he shared honestly.
He went on to tease a bit about what to expect from his next project that is still in the works. In doing so, he explained that his next musical chapter will grow off 2024’s 9 Lives album.
“I think the music that I’ve made for so long has just been instilled into me and kind of soldered into me. And with this new music, with the new record, I wanted to get a little bit more on the rock and roll side, back to that Texas rock and roll and working with Gabe Simon again. So it’s fun,” he shared. “Every time we go into the studio, it’s different. Every day is different. It’s just kind of going there blind, having a little bit of an idea of what you’re going to write, but not having a whole outlook on it and stepping back after the day of work and being like, holy s**t, that’s pretty cool.”

The process of going straight from writing to recording these songs has been a “fun” process for the Texas native and he is eager for fans to get their hands on it. At the time of this interview, he explained that there are currently no plans to include any collaborations on the forthcoming collection.
“We’re just kind focused on getting the songs where they want to be, and then I think maybe we will look later here a little bit once everything kind of gets into the shape of the record. Right now we got a bunch of songs. We just like to have a lot of songs, and then kind of come back to ’em and decide which ones are going to make the record. But yeah, I don’t know. We’ll see.”
Beginning next month, Koe Wetzel will hit the road with fellow first-time girl dad, HARDY. He will serve as support on the Jim Bob World Tour that kicks off in Chula Vista, CA on May 22 and continues through September.
