Kameron Marlowe Donates To Young Boys’ Viral Fort-Building Mission

Kameron Marlowe is all for supporting kids who have the motivation to get outside and be creative rather than sitting inside and staying occupied solely by technology, as it reminds him of his own childhood. So when he stumbled up on a viral TikTok account chronicling a young boy’s journey of building an outdoor fort with his friends, the country star felt compelled to donate to their GoFundMe.

Last March, a group of friends who go by the username, “rory.wes.jacob.micheal,” started a TikTok account as a way to showcase their outdoor adventures of riding dirt bikes and building in their workshop. They quickly gained an impressive following of users who were inspired by their hard work ethic and were interested in seeing their various projects develop over time.

The project that has gained the most attention online is their latest journey of building a fort in the woods. After noticing the number of followers and views see a major increase, they decided to start a GoFundMe so that users could contribute financially to the building of their extravagant fort.

The description on the GoFundMe page indicates that this will not be a small project as they plan to add a shooting range and a mini dirt bike track. One of the content creators on the account explained that he and the other boys in the group all have jobs ranging from polishing metals, cutting grass and flipping shoes, but anything extra they make through the donations will be put towards the fort.

“Hi I’m Rory and me and my friends are trying to make a really cool fort with a lot of fun things like a shooting range and a mini dirtbike track and we all have jobs we all do but we are looking to buy tarps, tools to build it and other things we post on TikTok or our fort any money would mean the world you do not have to donate,” they wrote.

Marlowe Shows His Support With $200 Donation

Like thousands of other people, Marlowe was inspired by their story and decided to donate $200. When fans found out about the country star’s generosity, they began tagging him in the comment section.

“I don’t know, it just kind of came up on my for you page. And so they were wanting to build a fort and it just kind of reminds me of my childhood and the stuff that I used to do with my friends and I was like, man, I feel like I grew up so fast. Time has flown and I missed those years. So yes, I guess I donated a little bit to help them build that fort,” Marlowe admitted.

He went on to explain that growing up, he didn’t have the money to build something like these boys are doing, but he’s no stranger to the fun and excitement that comes along with doing something you love with friends.

“I mean we always built forts and had paintball fights and airsoft fights. I mean we literally never were inside.  I feel like kids nowadays are constantly indoors and I don’t know. It’s good to see there’s still some true ones out there,” he added.

Exceeding Their Goal

After meeting their initial goal of $500 in under an hour, one of the boys posted a video announcing that everyone who donates will get their named carved into a piece of wood that will be used to build the fort. This money will go mostly towards buying the necessary tools and supplies, and anything extra will be used to incorporate suggestions left in the comments.

Thanks to the “Never Really Know” singer and everyone else who contributed, the group of boys far exceeded their goal and have raised $17,465 so far. Plus, their TikTok account has surpassed 200k followers.

“I just want to thank you guys so much for 100k followers. I’m in my basement right now, but it means the world to me,” the creator said. “Thank you guys so much for all the support. Love you guys, bye.”
