Kane Brown is preparing to hit the road for his headlining The High Road Tour launching this spring. In anticipation of the upcoming run, he tapped each of the four special guests joining him on select dates throughout the trek to feature on a new version of the song, “Says I Can,” off his just-released album.
He announced the surprise release to fans by posting a video to social media where he called up each of his soon-to-be tourmates on facetime – Mitchell Tenpenny, Scotty McCreery, Ashley Cooke and DASHA – and decided to play a game with them. “Seeing how long it takes people to cheers me back,” the text read.

First up was McCreery who caught onto the game pretty quick, after a few moments of silence he raised his own red solo cup and cheers’d the camera. At the very end of the video, Brown shared a “Leaderboard” revealing how long it took each of his openers to figure out what he was doing. Tenpenny ranked in first, McCreery second, Cooke third and DASHA fourth.
“ok so clearly i won,” DASHA joked while Cooke said, “the confusion was real” and McCreery added, “Cheers, Brother!”
Brown’s caption read, “called up some tour friends to join me for this song 🍻 “Says I Can (The High Road Tour Version)” out now. we’ll see you out on the road soon.”
Penned by the Georgia native with Gabe Foust, Jaxson Free and Matt Roy, “Says I Can (The High Road Tour Version)” takes the original recording to the next level with the addition of four powerhouse vocalists. Brown’s smooth, baritone sound takes the lead on the opening verse and sets the tone for the mid-tempo heartbreak anthem.
His tourmates then join him on the chorus, singing “’Cause when it comes to moving on over you/ Yeah, your voice in my head says I can’t/ But I got a bottle of bourbon/ A cigarette burning and some old vinyl turning/ That says I can.”
Each voice that blends together in this string of buttery harmonies are then pulled apart to take turns delivering the remaining verses. Tenpenny, McCreery, Cooke and DASHA all have very different tones and elements in their voices, yet when they come together with the “Miles On It” singer, pure magic is made.
The song comes full circle when Brown tackles the final set of lyrics solo, leaving fans with one last reminder of all the methods he’s using to try numb the pain, including drinking bourbon, smoking a cigarette and listening to an old vinyl.
“Says I Can (The High Road Tour Version)” joins a slew of star-studded tracks on Brown’s new 18-song album, The High Road. He also joins forces with Brad Paisley, Jelly Roll, Marshmello, Khalid, and his wife Katelyn throughout the project. However, today’s song drop perfectly lays the foundation for Kane Brown’s 2025 run and lets fans know that those planning to attend one (or multiple) dates are in for a treat.

The High Road Tour launches March 13, 2025, in San Diego, CA and features stops in 23 cities, including Portland, Montreal, Nashville, and more before wrapping in Gilford, NH on May 25.
