In a now-viral TikTok, the fan shared her funny encounter, revealing how she asked Rucker’s friend to take a photo of her and the country star. The kicker? That “friend” was none other than actor Woody Harrelson—and she didn’t even recognize him!

The TikTok caption explained: > “One time my friend and I saw Darius Rucker at a bar and we asked his friend to take a photo of us. Darius was laughing and kept saying, ‘I’m gonna tell this story.’ We then saw people asking to take photos with his friend. We asked Woody Harrelson to take a photo OF us.”

Rucker found the moment hilarious and reshared the post on Instagram writing, “still laughing.”

Darius Rucker and Woody Harrelson share a bond that goes far beyond casual friendship—Harrelson once saved Rucker’s life. In his memoir, Life’s Too Short, Rucker recounts the harrowing experience and the incredible role Harrelson played.

During an interview on The Today Show, Rucker opened up about the ordeal. “Woody is my brother. Woody and I are really, really close, and I went to visit him in Hawaii, and we went swimming,” he shared. “I got caught up in this rip current, and it was just killing me. He came back, and we were trying to get out. It was probably a good 40 minutes of trying to get out.”

Despite the danger, Harrelson refused to leave Rucker behind, even as the country star told him they both “didn’t have to die” out in the ocean. Thankfully, they both made it back to shore safely after a grueling fight against the current.
