Caylee Hammack recently announced plans to release her long-awaited sophomore album, Bed Of Roses. The project arrives on March 7, nearly four and half years since the release of her debut record.
Ahead of the upcoming release, the Georgia native shared five fun facts about the project with Country Now, giving us an inside look at what’s to come on the 13-track release.
In an exclusive video, Hammack revealed what inspired the project, offered insight into the making of the album, which included her friends and Music City heavyweights, and much more.
Here are five facts about Bed Of Roses, straight from Caylee Hammack.
1. The Album Is A “Tell-All”
This album is a tell all musically of all the different loves and losses I’ve had over the past 10 years from going from 20 to 30. There is a lot that you experience and I feel like finally I have been able to put it into an album and into a collection that people can share and relate to.
2. She Created The Project Alongside “Incredible Human Beings”
I got to work with some incredible human beings on this record. I got to produce some of them, co-produce ’em with Dann Huff and then John Osborne from Brothers Osborne. One night on the tour bus on tour together, I randomly asked him if he would produce some stuff on me because I had such a fun time getting to sing on the ‘Lindeville’ project with Ashley McBryde and him, and he said yes. So two great masterminds that helped me put together Bed Of Roses, Dann Huff and John Osborne.
3. She Also Self-Produced
One more cool production fact is I got to produce “Oh, Kara” myself. I got to write it and play it and produce it myself. And a good friend of mine, an engineer, Justin Francis, helped me engineer it. And it was a special little intimate moment in the studio. I cannot wait for you to hear.
4. Banjo and Harmonica Will Shine in Live Performances of New Record
There’s two different instruments that I have really honed into: banjo and harmonica, and I didn’t put much harmonica or banjo on this record. But I do think that bringing it into my live shows has just been one of the most fulfilling things in the world for me. So I cannot wait for you to hear the live translation of this record.
5. A Song Was Inspired by Cleopatra
One of the songs on this record is actually inspired by a story I heard a while ago about ancient Egypt and something that Cleopatra did to keep her safe. Hmm… may include roses!
