Carrie Underwood has been tapped to appear at President Trump’s upcoming inauguration.
A Trump-Vance Inaugural Committee spokesperson spoke Fox News Digital, confirming that on January 20, the eight-time GRAMMY® Award winner will sing “America the Beautiful” during the swearing-in ceremony.
The performance is set to take place after Vance takes his Oath of Office and before Trump takes the Presidential Oath of Office. Underwood’s stunning vocals will be accompanied by that of the Armed Forces Chorus and the United States Naval Academy Glee Club.
“I love our country and am honored to have been asked to sing at the Inauguration and to be a small part of this historic event,” Underwood shared in a statement. “I am humbled to answer the call at a time when we must all come together in the spirit of unity and looking to the future.”

Underwood Joins 23rd Season Of ‘American Idol’
Beginning on Sunday, March 9, the Oklahoma native will bring her musical talent to the 23rd season of American Idol. The two-hour premiere will air on ABC, showcasing many of the hopeful contestants as they step in front of the judging panel and deliver an audition that will determine their fate.
Underwood, an Idol alum, will appear as a judge for their first time among returning judges, Luke Bryan and Lionel Richie as well as longtime host, Ryan Seacrest. Her musical journey began 20 years ago when she left her small town in Oklahoma to pursue her musical dreams on the show and ultimately winning Season 4. Now, she is giving the next generation of artists the chance to see their dreams come true.
The news of Underwood’s new gig was confirmed in August, when ABC officially announced her as the replacement for Katy Perry who stepped down from her role after seven seasons with the singing competition.
“I went from nobody knowing my name to tens of millions of people watching the show…I’m proud of everything that I was able to accomplish on the show and I’m so proud of everything that I’ve accomplished since,” she said in the announcement video on social media.
Also this spring, fans will have a few more opportunities to see Carrie Underwood take the stage in Las Vegas at Resorts World for her extended Las Vegas residency. The new dates are set for March and April 2025. She also recently announced that a concert special showcasing her must-see Las Vegas residency is set to premiere on Hulu in January.
