Vincent Mason bares his soul in a gut-wrenching new breakup ballad, “Waitin’ On You To Wear Off.”
Written by Mason with Colton Venner, and Jack Hummel, the just-released track seamlessly captures the emotions of someone yearning for the ache of their broken heart to finally fade, along with the memories that they can’t seem to escape.
“Jack and I have been writing together for a long time. This was my first time writing with Colton. I’m a huge fan of his. The whole day couldn’t have gone better. It felt like the start of a lot more songs together,” Mason shared via press release.
That pain comes out strong through Mason’s goosebumps-inducing vocals that sweep listeners off their feet and transports them into a space of understanding and healing. A set of twangy instrumentals are highlighted throughout the slow-tempo melody, adding to the sensitivity of the narrative at hand.
“I’m still waitin’ on time to do what it’s supposed to do/ Waitin’ on the midnight where I don’t feel your touch/ Waitin’ on this heart to not get so close to the memories that turn around and hurt it so much/ I’m right where you left me it’s taking too long/ I’m still waitin’ on you to wear off,” the rising star delivers on the chorus.
“Waitin’ On You To Wear Off” comes hot on the heels of a major year of growth for the Georgia native. Not only did he get the chance to grow his fanbase by elevating his live performances, but he also dropped several songs that quickly turned into fan-favorites, including “Speak of the Devil,” “Train Of Thought,” “Hell is a Dance Floor,” “Almost Gone” with his fall tourmate Gavin Adcock and more.
Mason also previously teased to Country Now that he is getting closer to building out his debut record, and hopes to unveil the final product sometime in 2025.
The momentum he gained throughout 2024 has propelled him into the new year as he prepares to launch his debut headlining Hell Is A Dance Floor Tour. The already sold-out trek launches February 7 and runs through April.
Due to high demand, Mason announced the addition of a second show in both Chicago, IL and Oxford, MS as well as a venue upgrade in Columbia, SC. The tour will feature special guests Zach John King and Clayton Mullen.
“I’m excited to keep going on what we built in 2024,” Mason told Country Now exclusively. “I’m so thankful my first headlining tour sold out the way it did and I’m even more excited to get out there and play for the people who have been listening from the beginning.”
Additionally, Vincent Mason has been tapped to serve as an opener on select dates with Riley Green and Parker McCollum throughout the year.
