Gabby Barrett Breaks Silence On Social Media Absence

Gabby Barrett’s household has been hit hard by a wave of winter illnesses, forcing her to take a break from social media.

She took to her Instagram story late Tuesday evening to let her fans know why she has been absent online recently. Barrett revealed that all three of her young children have gotten sick multiple times over the course of four weeks and her duties as a mom became her sole focus.

“Hello everybody. Happy New Year. I hope everybody’s had a great holiday season. Sorry, I’m like MIA on posts just because our family has been sick and down for three or four weeks now. Each of our children got sick and then our third child that got sick had a different sickness. So we are all now re-sick straight back into it. And so that’s what’s been going on in our world. So that’s why I haven’t been posting much” she shared in the clip as a child can be heard coughing in the background.

Barrett Requests Prayers For Her Family

Barrett went on to ask followers to send prayers their way so that they can all get well soon and she can return to posting on her social media platforms regularly.

“Hope you’re having a great January thus far and I’ll be back on it when we all get better. Prayers until then, please. Okay, bye,” she concluded.

The “Growin’ Up Raising You” singer has three young children – Baylah May (3), Augustine Boone (2) and Ivy Josephine (10 months) – with her husband, Cade Foehner, who often joins her on stage to play the guitar or lend his vocals. For years, fans have requested that the pair of American Idol alums get into the studio together and they finally made that happen last year with a cover of “Baby, It’s Cold Outside” appearing on Barrett’s first Christmas album, Carols and Candlelight.

Latest Project

This 11-track project aims to celebrate Barrett’s faith and highlight the true meaning of the holiday with an array of beloved Christmas classics such as “The First Noel” and “Last Christmas,” “I’ll Be Home for Christmas,” “Silent Night” and more.

This collection came hot on the heels of the Warner Music Nashville star’s first single sent to Contemporary Christian radio as a solo artist, “Jesus On A Train.” This soulful tune was plucked from her sophomore album, Chapter & Verse, and released to stations across the nation.

Barrett closed out the year with a milestone performance as she made her headline debut in Nashville with her GIVING FOR GOOD SHOW.  Those who purchase tickets played a part in supporting the non-profit organization, Murphslife Foundation.

The Pennsylvania native has yet to announce any tour or new music plans for 2025. Fans can stay up-to-date with Barrett through her social media, which will hopefully see more activity shortly as she and her family continue to recover.
