Megan Moroney Hints At Third Studio Album With Unreleased Track

Megan Moroney has been enjoying a break from the road and soaking up the son on a tropical getaway, which she has been sharing snippets of online. While she appears to be in a state of relaxation, the rising star revealed she’s actually still got work on the mind as she recently previewed an unreleased tune via TikTok and Instagram.

The clip showcased her stunning views of sails and a bright sun peeking through the clouds from a floating boat. In the background, viewers can hear the brand-new song matching the calmness of the water. Moroney’s soft yet gritty vocals glide along the smooth instrumental as she toys with the idea of getting back together with a love interest who she still has feelings for.

She sings, “I know I shouldn’t, but I wanna / So I might, and if I do / Is now a bad time to let you know that / I kinda still love you / I’ve got nothing to do, and nothing to lose/ Why be alone when we don’t have to/ Let’s get a table for two.”

Fans were quick to point out the fact that both the theme of the video and the song seem to match the coastal energy of her 2024 tourmate, Kenny Chesney.

One user wrote, “This feels like a very Kenny Chesney coded song,” while another commented, “hung out with Kenny chesney one summer now we get a beach album.. lessgo 😂”

There was also a request for Moroney to lean into her “beach themed costal cowgirl era.”

Will Moroney Drop A New Album In 2025?

Regardless of the inspiration behind the song, the most important thing to take note of is Moroney’s caption which signals that this could be a teaser for her next project.

“For MM3,” she wrote indicating that the tune might appear as a track on her yet-to-be-announced third studio album.

The fact that the Georgia native is already hinting at another collection just three months after the release of the deluxe version of her sophomore album, Am I Okay?, proves that she is always one step ahead.

An Abundance of New Music in Less Than Two Years

This fast-paced nature is nothing unusual for the “Man On The Moon” singer. In May of 2023, she dropped her debut album, Lucky, followed by her highly anticipated project, Am I Okay?, in July of 2024 and it’s extended version, Am I Okay? (I’ll Be Fine) this past October.  Then, she closed out the year by gifting fans her first-ever holiday EP titled Blue Christmas … duh, meaning collectively, the songstress has released a heavy dose a music in less than two years.

So with the rate Moroney’s been moving, it’s no surprise that album number three is already in the works and could potentially be released sometime in 2025.

Fans may have the chance to hear even more new music throughout Megan Moroney’s upcoming headline run. The 50-date Am I Okay? is officially set to kick off in March and features stops across Canada as well as the U.S. including Tennessee, Minnesota, Oklahoma, California, Georgia and more before wrapping up in the fall.
