Post Malone Makes His Grand Ol Opry Debut [WATCH]

The Grand Ole Opry is sacred to country music and country music artists everywhere. Artists dream of that moment when they get to step inside the circle to honor all of those who came before and all who will come after.

Post Malone entered the circle for his Opry debut and as he took the stage, you could tell he wasn’t his normal Posty running around the stage being crazy. He was very nervous, and he was very grateful and humbled to be standing inside of that circle.

You could tell by the way he spoke of the Opry and how he recognized the honor it was and is to stand there and the way that country music has accepted and honored him is the same way that he has honored country music throughout his career.

He spoke about the time when he and his mother went and watched Brad Paisley when he was just seven years old, and for now, to have Brad, play with him on stage. As he said, The best guitar player, alive, was a moment that almost brought Post to tears.

With his album F-1 Trillion out today (Friday, August 16th), he had some of the feature artists join him on stage, including Vince Gill, Lainey Wilson, John Michael Montgomery, and War And Treaty. Every artist who stepped up next to him had the nicest things to say and thanked him for how he has truly embraced country music.

From the moment you walked into the Grand Ole Opry. That night, you knew it was going to be something special and Post Malone, did not disappoint!

At one point he asked the crowd, quote, “Is everyone having fun tonight? I’m not gonna cuss. I’m having the freaking best time of my life.” But then Posty thought about it, and turned to someone offstage and asked, “Have I cussed already? Just once? Nah, just one is fine, I think. I’m on my best behavior tonight ladies and gentleman.” Apparently his one slip all night was when he was telling the crowd how much he loved them . . . He said, quote, “Keep kicking [butt]”. Saying the A-word is a grievous crime, so I hope the Opry was able to forgive him.
