Have you heard of a shoey? To “do a shoey” is to pour alcohol (usually beer) into a shoe (yours or someone else’s) and chug it. The shoey is particularly popular in, but not limited to, Australia.  Singers like Harry Styles, Post Malone, and Luke Combs have all taken part in the tradition.

The annual CMC Rocks Festival just took place in Queensland, Australia and a few more country stars were introduced to the tradition.

“I’m Not Pretty” singer Megan Moroney used a fan’s boot, and while she took kind of a hesitant sip at first, she downed it on her second slug.

Nate Smith just celebrated his 10 week #1 Hit, “World on Fire,” and did his first shoey.

And at Lainey Wilson’s tour stop in Australia, she took up the challenge as well.  She said, “I cannot believe I am drinking beer out of a boot.  But I’m dang excited about it.”

Before she chugged, Lainey yelled out, “Holler and Swaller!”
