So…where ya been?
A historic church in Mexico that was built back in 1898 has come back to life sorta speaking. The church of the Virgin of Dolores was lost in 1979 when a dam was constructed.
Residents of the small community were forced out when they realized that everything that they owned was about to be buried in water. Residents were relocated to a nearby village, but the church’s fate was sealed. 42-years-later, look who’s making a return?
Due to a severe drought, the water has descended and the 123-year-old church is playing peek-a-boo. The church has become a tourist hot spot with folks from all over the world traveling to central Mexico to gaze upon the 123-year-old treasure.
