Megan Moroney has officially been named Billboard Women in Music’s “Rule Breaker of the Year”—but if you ask her, the title might be a little misleading.

While accepting the award, Megan gave a funny and refreshingly honest speech that had everyone in the room laughing.

“This is so cool. When I found out I was getting the Rule Breaker Award, I thought it was kinda funny. Because in real life, I am an avid rule follower. I stole a piece of gum when I was ten from a ballpark and I still think about it.”

Despite the fact that she considers herself a rule-abiding citizen, Megan continues to break barriers and expectations in the country music world with her bold lyrics, fearless storytelling, and unique sound.
