Eric Church Announces New Album ‘Evangeline Vs. The Machine’

Eric Church might need a bucket after dealing with some major leaks this week. Fans got a sneak peek at his upcoming album, Evangeline vs. the Machine, when the full tracklist and release date accidentally appeared on Apple Music ahead of schedule.

Church, who typically shares big news with his Church Choir fan club first, sent out an email addressing the situation, joking that the information had “escaped from the machine.” He confirmed that the album will officially drop on May 2nd—so mark your calendars!

The surprise didn’t stop there. Church also dropped his new song “Hands of Time” yesterday, though many fans had already heard it after it leaked a little early. He shared a clip discussing the track, reflecting on how old music has a way of making you feel young again.

One thing fans are buzzing about? The album will only have eight songs—a big shift from his last project, Heart & Soul, which had 24 tracks spread across three albums.
