Ed Sheeran Surprises Nashville with Pop-Up Shows and Writers’ Round with Megan Moroney

Ed Sheeran is no stranger to surprising fans, and his latest spontaneous performances in Nashville were no exception. The global pop star took Music City by storm, playing a series of pop-up shows and even joining a legendary writers’ round at the iconic Bluebird Café alongside country singer Megan Moroney.

Sheeran popped up at Tootsie’s Orchid Lounge wearing a pink cowboy hat and performing his hit songs, along with John Denver’s “Take Me Home Country Roads.” The highlight of his Nashville adventure was his appearance at the Bluebird Café, a venue famous for its intimate songwriter rounds.

Sitting among some of Nashville’s finest storytellers, Sheeran shared the stage with Megan Moroney. Moroney and Sheeran swapped stories and songs, with Sheeran expressing his love for Nashville’s songwriting culture.

Sheeran has long had an appreciation for country music. The 34-year-old British artist spent time living in Nashville during the 2010s and has often expressed his love for the genre, calling it “just like brilliant songs.” He and his wife are big fans, regularly listening to country music at home—”All day, every day in the kitchen.” Sheeran also credits Taylor Swift, whom he toured with in 2013, for introducing him to the genre.
