Pam Tillis had a bit of an oops moment onstage at the Grand Ole Opry when she mistook up-and-coming country artist Tucker Wetmore for Riley Green.
To be fair, both guys have mustaches, are tall, and fit the country star look—but that didn’t make the mix-up any less awkward.
While speaking at an event, Pam was singing Tucker’s praises, raving about his talent and complimenting him on his latest music video. Tucker graciously accepted the kind words, but then things took a turn when Pam introduced him as “Mr. Riley Green, everybody!”
Tucker, clearly caught off guard, had to correct her: “My name is Tucker Wetmore.”
Cue the cringe.
Realizing the mistake, Pam quickly tried to recover by joking, “Well, I haven’t seen your video.” Meanwhile, Riley Green—who was actually on stage further down—jumped in to try and ease the awkwardness, saying, “Thank you for the nice things you said about me.”
Pam wrapped things up with a laugh, telling the crowd, “I told my management I should’ve worn my glasses.”
It was a lighthearted moment, and thankfully, everyone took it in stride—but Tucker Wetmore is definitely not going to let this one go anytime soon!
