Post Malone Leaves $20,000 Tip for Houston Bartender on Christmas Eve Visit

For Renee Brown, a 36-year-old single mom and bartender in Houston, this Christmas Eve turned out to be anything but ordinary. Working the late shift at The Railyard, a neighborhood bar, she wasn’t expecting much on the slow holiday night. Then Post Malone and his crew walked in.

Renee, who juggles two jobs while homeschooling her daughter, served Post and his friends as they hung out on the patio, playing songs on the jukebox from 12:30 to 2:00 a.m. Despite enjoying his time at the bar, Post didn’t actually have a tab—his drinks had been covered by his friends and a few regulars. But Post wasn’t about to leave without tipping. He insisted Renee charge him for something, even if it was just a penny. She ended up charging him $1, and what happened next left her in tears. As she was closing down, Renee checked the receipt and saw that Post had left her a $20,000 tip. Stunned and overwhelmed, she tracked him down before he left and burst into tears.

In an interview with Music Mayhem, Renee described Post as the “most humble” celebrity she’s ever met. “If this message reaches him, I know I told him that night how grateful I am. But I’d like to reiterate that he helped me in ways I can’t even begin to explain,” she said.
