Sometimes, Nashville magic happens when you least expect it. That’s exactly what aspiring country artist Cay Aliese experienced when Jason Aldean and his wife, Brittany, stumbled upon her live performance.
Cay, a 26-year-old singer-songwriter from Knoxville, Tennessee, moved to Nashville to pursue her music career after a stint on American Idol, where she made it to the Hollywood rounds before being cut. Now balancing her dreams with being a mom of two, Cay regularly performs in Music City, hoping for her big break.
Last week Cay was performing and Jason and Brittany Aldean happened to be in the audience. Impressed by her sound, Brittany approached Cay and requested she perform Miranda Lambert’s “Tin Man.” But the story didn’t end there. Not only did Cay perform the song for the Aldeans, but Jason himself joined her on stage, playing backing guitar while Cay led the vocals on the keys.
The unexpected duet was a special moment for Cay, who later shared the experience on Instagram, writing: i used to sneak jason aldean on the school bus and i sing his songs everyday on broadway. meeting them tonight was so sweet!💕
