Morgan Wallen Put On Vocal Rest for 6 Weeks, Forced to Cancel Upcoming Shows

Bad news Morgan Wallen fans, the singer is back on vocal rest.

He took to social media today to share the news saying, “I got some bad news from my doctors at the Vanderbilt Voice Center yesterday. After taking 10 days of taking vocal rest, I performed three shows last weekend in Florida, and by the third one I felt terrible.”

“So I went in and got scoped yesterday and they told me that I reinjured my vocal cords,” he continued. “Their advice is that I go on vocal rest for six weeks, so that’s what I’m gonna do,” he added.

The singer said he is working on rescheduling his upcoming concert dates and will make up his festival dates next year. In addition to his vocal issues, Wallen shared that he tore his lat in Australia and was trying to work through it quietly and will use the time off to recover.

“They told me that if I do this the right way I’ll get back to 100%, they also said that if I don’t listen and keep singing that I’ll permanently damage my voice so for the longevity of my career this is just the choice I had to make. I hate it but I love you guys…I’ll be back better than ever,” he assured fans.

Wallen was set to perform at Veterans United Home Loans Amphitheater in Virginia Beach on June 8th and 9th.  New dates will be announced at a later time. Check back with livenation.com for more details.
