Lainey Wilson isn’t proud of it, but her song “Things a Man Oughta Know” broke up a marriage.
The country singer appeared at the Billboard Music Awards Sunday where she mentioned the story to People on the red carpet.
“The other day this man slid in my DMs and was like, ‘Your song “Things a Man Oughta Know” ruined my marriage,” Lainey told the outlet. “I said, ‘Man, that was you! I just brought awareness to the situation, brother.'”
“I’m proud for the girl. She got out of it. It was probably a long time coming!” she added.
Lainey’s new song, “Heart Like a Truck,” comes out this Friday.
