Carly Pearce and Ashley McBryde co-wrote their new duet, “Never Wanted to be That Girl,” with Shane McAnally, and they realize some people might see them as an unlikely duo.  “We are very different,” says Ashley.  “She’s tall and blonde and kind of on the quieter side and more soft-spoken, and I’m short and tattooed and brunette and like, in everybody’s face.”

They realized their opposites attract dynamic worked a few years ago when they were playing a guitar pull together at The Crystal Palace in Bakersfield with Jimmie Allen.  “I found out that Carly was a germaphobe,” recalls Ashley.  “Jimmie and I picked on you a little bit during the show, and I thought I had really offended her.”
