On Saturday, Granger Smith lost some of his gear in a major semi-truck accident out on the road. Smith posted about the accident on his Instagram account, noting that the overturned equipment truck’s driver escaped the crash without injury. “We lost gear, but all that can be replaced,” Smith writes. “Grateful for my road brothers, and thankful for another day.” After the accident, Smith performed as scheduled in Baltimore, Md., that night.
Music Star’s Home Burglarized: John Mayer was the victim of a home burglary on Friday. A thief or thieves broke a window to enter his Hollywood Hills house and made off with music equipment and other personal items worth an estimated $100,000 to $200,000. Mayer’s security staff had noticed the window and called police around noonthat day. The 40-year-old musician was not home at the time. He has not commented on the break-in..
JENNIFER GARNER PHOTOGRAPHED AT BEN AFFLECK’S HOME AFTER BEING WARNED DIVORCE MAY BE DISMISSED: In June of 2015, Jennifer Garner and Ben Affleck, 45, announced their intention to divorce. In April of 2017, they filed joint legal documents. But according to The Blast, the Los Angeles Superior Court has warned them that their case could be dismissed if they don’t take action. Soon after that news broke, the Daily Mail photographed the 46-year-old star leaving Affleck’s home in L.A.
Lindsay Lohan has apologized for her comments about the #MeToo movement. Last week, the actress told The Times U.K. that the “women speaking against all these things, it makes them look weak when they are very strong women.” After a backlash, Lindsay released a statement to People, “I would like to unreservedly apologize for any hurt and distress caused by a quote in a recent interview with The Times. The quote solely related to my hope that a handful of false testimonies out of a tsunami of heroic voices do not serve to dilute the importance of the #MeToo movement, and all of us who champion it. However, I have since learned how statements like mine are seen as hurtful, which was never my intent. I’m sorry for any pain I may have caused.”
After years of speculation, it looked like Idris Elba was next in line to be James Bond. But on Sunday, the British actor shot down the rumors. He tweeted, “My name’s Elba, Idris Elba.” Then followed that up with “Don’t believe the HYPE…” Last week, the U.K. tabloid The Daily Star reported that director Antoine Fuqua had spoken to Bond producer Barbara Broccoli and said “it is time” for the famous spy to be played by a black actor. Then Fuqua suggested Elba take the role. Daniel Craig is scheduled to appear in a fifth James Bond film, which hits theaters in late 2019.
Music Legend Gravely Ill: We’ve learned the heartbreaking news that Aretha Franklin, The iconic singer known as The Queen of Soul, is gravely ill. Her family in Detroit is asking for prayers and privacy. Originally diagnosed with cancer in 2010, Aretha, who turned 76 in March, bravely battled back and refused to be knocked out by illness. Her last performance was on November 2nd, 2017 for the Elton John AIDS Foundation in New York.
